Who may borrow from Drew Library?

Answer

Faculty, staff, students and alumni of Drew University with a Drew ID may borrow from Drew Library. Certain requirements apply, depending on the user group, for example:

  • Alumni: To borrow from the Library, alums must obtain an alumni card from Alumni Relations. To begin that process, alums should enter the required information in the Google form HERE.
    • Once alumni/ae receive their alumni card, they may bring it to the Library's Circulation Desk and complete a registration form for borrowing privileges. After registering, a barcode will be affixed to the alumni card so it serves as the user's library card. Alums may have their account in perpetuity, unless their account status changes and is not in good standing. If that occurs, the account is blocked until cleared.
  • NJ Community users and Clergy: New Jersey residents may purchase a borrowing card, valid for one year, for $75.00. The charge for members of the clergy who reside in New Jersey is $25.00. We accept checks but not cash or credit cards. If a New Jersey resident or clergy member is in good standing, their Drew Library card may be renewed for the same fee.
    • Community residents and clergy members who have purchased privileges may borrow up to 10 items at a time for a loan period of 30 days. No renewal, Inter-Library Loan, off-site database access, or recall privileges are granted

For more information about borrowing privileges for other Library user groups, please see "Borrower privileges" in the "Circulation User Guide" on the "About the Library" webpage.
