How do I do citations in a particular style (e.g. APA, MLA, Chicago, Turabian)?
Answer
Citation styles vary by discipline, subject matter, the editorial guidelines of a publication, and so on. For more information about specific citation styles and guides, citation managers, and other helpful citation information, please consult the Citation Tools and Applications guide.
In general, most databases offer citation generators as part of the "tools" offered. These tools allow users to format a citation in popular styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc). The location of the tool will vary depending on the database, but in general users will find "cite" somewhere on the results page. Please keep in mind that the formatting of these generated citations is only as reliable as the information provided (for instance, an article title in ALL CAPS). Quite often some editing will be required.
The Library offers a variety of citation style guides, in print and (some) online. Please contact the Library at email: reference@drew.edu for assistance with any of the information shared above.
