How can I access articles from ScienceDirect?
Answer
ScienceDirect content is available to Drew faculty, staff, and students either through the Library's subscription or on a pay-per-download basis. The process varies a bit, depending on the person, e.g. faculty may access content on their own after registering for an account through the Library.
Drew students:
Students may access pay-per-download articles from ScienceDirect journals outside of Drew University's Core Subscription package by submitting a request through email to reference@drew.edu or by using the Interlibrary Loan system. Please consult the Library Guide for Student Users of ScienceDirect for more detailed instructions.
Depending on when the request is submitted, the Librarian answering the Reference email may be able to supply the ScienceDirect article on the same day, Mon-Fri during business hours... while Interlibrary Loan may supply the desired article(s) sometime between 1-3 busiiness days.
Drew faculty:
Drew Library provides access and oversees usage of this valuable Elsevier resource. Current Drew faculty or staff members may access all ScienceDirect content at will after receiving account credentials issued by Drew Library.
New or current faculty and staff who have a Drew email address will need to arrange access to a ScienceDirect account by contacting Guy Dobson at email: gdobson@drew.edu. At the faculty or staff member's request, a ScienceDirect account will be created and login instructions will be provided.
Please consult the Library Guide for Faculty and Staff Users of ScienceDirect for more information.
