I'm doing research on a specific topic. Where do I start?

Answer

Depending on your research project needs, the best place to start for finding scholarly, peer-reviewed materials is the Library website. Drew librarians have prepared research guides on a variety of subject areas to help students who are beginning a research project. In the research guide, students will find suggested Library resources related to the subject area of their topic. To find a research guide for your subject, follow the Library Guides link (under the main ScholarSearch search box on the Drew library homepage), then browse the list of available guides by subject, topic or course title.

Alternatively, to browse databases in a specific subject area, on the Library website follow the link for Resources by Title (A-Z list), found about mid-way down the webpage. Once in the A-Z list, expand the "Subjects" drop down menu and select your subject of interest. Related databases should be listed in the results.

If you would like to discuss your research project with a librarian, please email reference@drew.edu, use Library chat, stop by the Research Help Desk on the library's first floor, or reach out to one of us directly. We're happy to help!
